What to look for when providing feedback on designs

We love hearing from you! And when we ask for feedback on designs we have made it even more accessible for you to tell us your thoughts on the project.

The design stage helps us to customise and create the website you want. So if the initial designs aren’t quite right then that’s ok. We take the bits you do like and move forward with them in amended designs. This process can take a few changes to get right so don’t be put off if the design doesn’t hit the mark first time around. After all, art work and design is based a lot on personal taste.

So what are we looking for from you when we ask for feedback? Here are some helpful points to the get the most from your feedback:

• Good / Bad - Pick out the bits you definitely want to keep, or definitely want us to discard.
• Fonts - Do you like a particular font we have used? What about the sizing of it?
• Colours - We often use a main colour and an accent or highlight colour (a secondary colour) – are these working for you? Do they fit with your branding? How about the colours of links? What about the background colours behind copy?
• Styling - Look at button stylings – do you want a shadow or a flat button design? How about the buttons in the main navigation menu? Perhaps icons should be bevelled or flat?
• Images – These can easily be swapped out – do you have any you would like us to use? We default to stock photography when none are provided.
• Copy – Look at the spacing and line height. How about font size?
• Icons – Have we got the icon style right? 
• Spacing – Is there too much white space? Or perhaps there’s not enough? Do we need to bring the page elements closer together?

Providing us with constructive feedback helps us to nail your design more efficiently and effectively! If we don’t know what you’re thinking we can’t change it for the better.
